Frequently Asked Questions

Simple answers to common questions. No corporate speak.

It adds a small, floating button that appears only when you're shopping online, on product pages, carts, checkouts, or shopping-related Google searches.

Click it, and we automatically search Amazon for the same item or search term.

That's it. No popups, no scraping, no clutter.

Yes, you absolutely can. And you probably already do.

But let's be honest, sometimes you forget. Especially when you're mid-checkout, in a hurry, or just distracted.

That's why we built this. Not to be clever, but because we got tired of forgetting ourselves.

Opening a new tab, typing "Amazon," pasting the product name, and hitting search takes 10–20 seconds. Our button takes one.

Price Check This is just a simple reminder at the right moment. Nothing more, nothing less.

We get it. We're not Amazon evangelists either.

But here's the reality: with the economy stagnating and inflation hitting everyone hard, every small saving matters. Whether it's $5 or $50, those savings add up, especially for families struggling to make ends meet.

Amazon often (but not always) has competitive prices, fast delivery, and easy returns. Sometimes that convenience is unavoidable.

That said, we're working on it: We plan to add support for small businesses and independent sellers through eBay, Etsy, and other platforms. You'll be able to choose which "check" buttons appear, supporting local sellers when it makes sense, while still having the option to check Amazon when budget is tight.

Watch this space.

We don't. The extension looks for common patterns in the URL bar. That's it.

For example, it checks if the URL contains patterns like:

  • /product or /products for product pages
  • /cart or /basket for shopping carts
  • /checkout for checkout pages
  • • Query strings on Google Shopping (e.g., ?q=laptop)

This all happens client-side. On your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

We genuinely don't know what page you're on, what you're shopping for, or where you browse. No tracking. No data harvesting. No selling your information.

It's just simple pattern matching, like how your ad blocker knows when to hide an ad.

It gives your future self a reminder and simple quick way to check if Amazon has the product or search term you're looking at so you can compare.

Whether that's price, alternatives, or something else entirely. Buying things is complex with lots of different criteria.

We think you should stay in control and ultimately let you decide!

It's not a "shopping assistant." It's a shortcut and gentle reminder to something you already do that could save you some money or help you find a better alternative.

No. Because you don't need AI.

You need a button that opens Amazon. That's it.

We're not going to make you wait 5-10 seconds for an "AI agent" to "analyze" prices you could've checked yourself in 2 seconds.

No training data. No machine learning models. No "intelligent recommendations." No agents. No clankers.

Just a fast, dumb button that does exactly what you expect.

In 2025, that's apparently revolutionary.

No. We don't track, scrape, or sell your browsing history.

We only log anonymous button clicks - just enough to power our global counter that shows how many reminders have been used and how much time we've saved people.

We don't know who you are, what you bought, or what sites you visit.

Yes, for transparency:

If you click "Check Amazon" and decide to buy something, Amazon may pay us a small affiliate commission.

You pay Amazon the same price either way. We don't sell data, show ads, or inject anything else into your pages.

If you don't decide to buy? No big deal. We tried! You checked! That's what matters. We'd rather you made a smart decision than just blindly buying something.

No. It's lightweight - less than a typical web image in size.

No heavy scripts, no tracking libraries, no weird background processes.

No.

It only appears on pages where it makes sense - product pages, carts, checkouts, and shopping-related searches.

No spam, no interruptions while you're browsing the web, reading emails or scrolling social media.

We don't do coupons or scrape prices.

We simply open Amazon for you with a pre-filled search, so you see the real listings directly from Amazon itself.

You stay in control - we just remove the annoying step.

Soon, yes.

Our plan is to let you choose which "check" buttons appear - for example, "Check eBay" or "Check Google Shopping."

Still the same clean design. Still no popups.

Because they're bloated, intrusive, and unreliable.

They flood you with popups, fake deals, expired coupons, and tracking scripts.

Price Check This is the opposite: one button, one click, no noise.

Yes, we'll have an easy toggle in the extension settings so you can add sites to a "do not show" list.

It's your browser, not ours.

That's our running total of how many times people have been reminded to check Amazon, and how much collective time we've saved.

Each click is roughly ten seconds someone didn't waste opening a new tab, navigating to Amazon and typing into a search bar.

We only track the click for the counter. That's it. We don't track anything else about you. Nothing personally identifiable. No browsing history. No shopping habits. Just a simple click count.

It's a quiet reminder that small nudges add up.

Nothing. It's completely free.

We earn a small affiliate commission from Amazon when you use the reminder, so you'll never pay a penny.

A small team tired of being interrupted by "smart" browser extensions.

We missed when software was simple, transparent, and respectful, so we built this to prove it can still be done.

No. We don't track price history or show you graphs.

We just help you remember to check Amazon right now, in the moment you're about to buy.

If you need historical price data, tools like Keepa or CamelCamelCamel are great for that. We're intentionally simpler.

No. We don't send notifications, emails, or alerts of any kind.

We only show up when you're actively shopping, on a product page, cart, or checkout.

No noise. No interruptions. No "you left something in your cart" spam.

No. We don't scrape coupon codes or test them at checkout.

If you want to check for Amazon coupons, you can do that yourself once you're on Amazon.

We're not trying to be clever. We're just a quick reminder to compare prices before you buy.

Because we believe shopping online is more complex than just finding the cheapest price.

You might care about shipping speed, return policies, customer support, supporting local businesses, or just trusting a specific retailer.

We don't want to make that decision for you. We just give you a quick way to check Amazon yourself, and let you be the judge.

Simple tools for smart people.

We support all Amazon marketplace regions. You can set your location in the extension settings, and we'll direct you to your local Amazon site when you click the button.

Supported countries:

  • 🇺🇸 United States
  • 🇬🇧 United Kingdom
  • 🇨🇦 Canada
  • 🇩🇪 Germany
  • 🇫🇷 France
  • 🇮🇹 Italy
  • 🇪🇸 Spain
  • 🇯🇵 Japan
  • 🇮🇳 India
  • 🇧🇷 Brazil
  • 🇲🇽 Mexico
  • 🇦🇺 Australia
  • 🇦🇪 United Arab Emirates
  • 🇸🇬 Singapore
  • 🇳🇱 Netherlands
  • 🇹🇷 Turkey
  • 🇸🇪 Sweden
  • 🇵🇱 Poland
  • 🇪🇬 Egypt
  • 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia
  • 🇧🇪 Belgium

Not in one of these countries? The extension will still work, but you'll need to manually set your preferred Amazon region in the settings.

Yeah... it's not a great name. We know.

Honest answer? We had the domain laying around and it felt right. Even though, and here's the kicker, it's not actually what we do.

We don't check the price. YOU check the price.

We just remind you. And then you check the price. And the shipping. And the returns policy. And whether you trust the seller. And maybe even some alternative options while you're at it.

Other tools try to boil everything down to "which site has the lowest number." But you already know it's more complicated than that.

So really, we should be called "Remember To Check This Yourself."

But remembertocheckthis.com is a terrible domain name!

So... "Price Check This" it is. 🤷

Currently just Chrome. But we're working on expanding to other browsers soon.

The good news is that most modern browsers (like Edge, Brave, Opera) are built on Chromium, so they can usually run Chrome extensions without any issues.

Try the honest alternative

No tracking. No hijacking. No false promises. Just a simple reminder when you need it.
